4 Signs it's Time to Replace your Boiler
Is it time to replace your new boiler? Church Services is here with some signs to look for when deciding whether it’s time to invest in a new boiler.
Age
If your condensing boiler receives routine maintenance, you can expect it to last about 15 years or longer. Cast iron boilers can last a lot longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is coming up on 15 years or your cast iron boiler is almost 50 years, it may be time to consider an upgrade.
Bills
If your utility bills are going up or you’re having to service your boiler more frequently, it could be because it’s time to invest in a new, more efficient boiler.
Discoloration
If you notice yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a sign that the fuel is not burning adequately and could be generating carbon monoxide. If you see these issues or have any concerns surrounding carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Church Services or your gas company as soon as possible.
Comfort
If some of the sections in your home are too hot or too cold and you can’t seem to control them properly or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is no longer effective and you could need to look into upgrade choices.
