What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Church Services is here with a few of the most typical air conditioning problems in Houston.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner running but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Church Services and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so a second matter to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can check these matters, you may be able to pinpoint the problem; if not, give Church Services a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause major cooling troubles. Another problem that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a frequent issue when homes are constructed. Church Services will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your problem, whatever AC trouble you run into, Church Services is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
